ASBM

The Arctic Satellite Broadband Mission (ASBM) aims to provide reliable broadband communications in the challenging Arctic region. This mission, a collaboration between Space Norway, the U.S. Space Force, and Northrop Grumman, involves two satellites equipped with multiple payloads for both military and commercial use. Notably, it marks the first time a U.S. military payload, the Enhanced Polar System-Recapitalization (EPS-R), is hosted on a non-U.S. satellite. These satellites will operate in a highly elliptical orbit, enabling coverage over the Arctic, an area traditionally underserved by other satellite systems.
