Rocket Lab, a space technology company and the global leader in dedicated small satellite launch, has rolled an Electron launch vehicle out to the Launch Complex 2 pad at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport in Wallops, Virginia for the first time. The milestone is one of the final steps ahead of Rocket Lab’s first launch from Launch Complex 2 – a dedicated mission in partnership with the Department of Defense’s Space Test Program and the Space and Missile Systems Center’s Small Launch and Targets Division.

Rocket Lab announced today that with the completion of construction at their US launch site at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport (MARS) in Virginia, their first US launch, carrying an R&D micro-satellite for the US Air Force, is currently scheduled for Q2 2020.

Following decades of development, NASA's Parker Solar Probe finally left Earth aboard United Launch Alliance's Delta IV Heavy rocket at 03:31 AM EDT (07:31 UTC) from Cape Canaveral, Florida. Over the next seven years, NASA will use the probe to study the Sun, hoping to answer long-asked questions about its complex behavior.

The launch of Delta IV Heavy for NASA's Parker Solar Probe mission was scrubbed just under 2 minutes from liftoff after a gaseous helium regulator pressure alarm caused a hold in the countdown. Launch is now planned for August 12 at 03:31 AM EDT / 07:31 UTC.
